When you find a mountain lion caught in your live animal trap, you know it’s going to be an interesting day.
Live animal trapping can be a great way to introduce young children to hunting and the outdoors. As long as they are checked regularly and the captured animals are released in a timely manner, then there is no harm done to the animals and the young outdoorsmen get an up close experience with nature.
But things can get a little tricky when you find a mountain lion caught in the trap instead of the usual suspects. Check out this video of some young outdoorsmen’s father dealing with a mountain lion caught in their live animal trap.
While the video is not quite as thrilling as one might have originally thought, you can clearly tell that it was an intense situation. The whole time the man was trying to open the trap, the lion was hissing and scratching at him. The added danger of the angry animal makes the work of freeing her much more difficult.
Luckily for all involved, once the trap was safely and successfully opened the lionwas grateful for her freedom and chose to run off to safety instead of seeking vengeance on those she thought responsible. That could have turned this situation into a disaster very quickly.
