Mother Bear Scrambles to Save Cub from Fishing Net

Watch as a black bear scrambles to save her cub from a fishing net.

Human moms aren’t the only kind of moms that can’t bare to see their children in danger. In this video taken in Anchorage, Ala. a few years ago, a mother black bear doesn’t waste a second when her cub gets tangled in a fishing net attached to a moving pickup truck.

The driver clearly wanted to help, but he couldn’t get out of the truck. Instead, he turned the front wheel just enough to hold the net in place so that the mother bear could pull out her tangled cub.

How’d the young bear get trapped in the net? Apparently, it smelled like salmon. And if there’s one thing that bears like more than honey and donuts, it’s salmon.
