Who doesn’t love a story where a baby manatee is saved?

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded in a big way when it was discovered that a mother and baby manatee had been found trapped in a ditch. As the flooding and winds from Hurricane Hermine subsided, people began to venture back outside, luckily, these two hapless creatures were discovered.

As you are about to see, it took a team to make this effort a success.

The world always seems to pull together when people or animals are in a real trouble. That message was on full display as witnessed in the acts in the video.

Per the description of the video linked above, the mother and baby manatee were rescued near the Crystal River. Luckily, they both made it out okay back into Kings Bay, really no worse for the wear.

Out of all of the bad that came from Hurricane Hermine, at least we can see some of the good after affects from the community coming together.
