Foraged Appetizer: Morel Cheese Dip Recipe

Michelle Li

Impress your summer party guests with an appetizer you foraged yourself. Morel cheese dip!

Cheese dip is delicious. Always. Who doesn’t like melted cheese? Add fresh mushrooms and you’ve got yourself an appetizer.

This is pretty straight-forward; cheese, lots of different cheese, crackers, and morels. Because everyone is fungi crazy this spring!

Ingredients

8 oz. wheel of Kase Meister wild morel and leek jack shredded (yeah, a morel cheese exists)

4 oz. swiss cheese shredded

8 oz. cream cheese

4 oz. chopped morels, or more if you were lucky in the woods

salt and pepper to taste

slivered almonds, optional

rice crackers

Mix the cheeses together, add chopped mushrooms and nuts and season with salt and pepper. Bake in oven heated to 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through. Serve with rice crackers.
