Montana Authorities Looking for Poachers Who Killed 6 Deer in 10 Days

The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department needs your help.

Generally, deer poaching incidents tend to level off in the spring and are much more common in the fall when hunting seasons are going.

But the Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Department is currently dealing with a string of poaching incidents and are looking to the public for leads on the person or persons responsible.

According to a post on their Facebook page, six whitetail deer have been poached in a span of 10 days in Jefferson County. The post says the deer were south of Whitehall and the culprit or culprits shot them at night from a roadway. The latest one happened Monday night.

From the photo with the post, it also appears whoever is responsible left the deer to rot. The FWP is asking anyone with any information on the case to call their anti-poaching tip line at 1-800-TIP-MONT (800-847-6668).
