During an act of courtesy, a Michigan man was struck by a car while he attempted to move a dead deer off the highway.

A 50-year-old Michigan man saw a dead deer on the road, stopped his vehicle, got out, and was attempting to remove the deer from the road when he was suddenly struck by a car on the highway.

The victim, whose name was not yet released, was taken to a nearby hospital, and later airlifted to Grand Rapids hospital.

The driver who struck the victim was an 80 year old man. Reports concluded that he was properly licensed, and has a clean driving record. Apparently, it was still dark at the time of the accident.

Removing a dead deer from the road is something we have all probably thought about doing, and some of us have even done it. If you do decide to do it, please be careful. Better yet, call the police and make sure it’s taken care of as safely as possible.
