This bear encounter would have most hunters shaking in their boots. Melissa Bachman holds it together and makes a great shot.
While hunting on Alaska’s Prince of Wales Island, Bachman spots a coastal black bear from her kayak and slips in for the kill. A predator call brings the bear in for the close encounter, and her perfect archery shot seals the deal.
Watch how it all goes down!
“That comes down to, you’d better make the shot or he’s coming after you,” said Bachman about the charging bear. I couldn’t have said it better myself.
Although the shot angle wasn’t perfect, Bachman knew her quarry’s anatomy and put the broadhead right where it needed to be.
We knew she was a good shot, but making an up-close shot on that big bear proves it all over again!
