This school of bull redfish will make you want to head to Louisiana right now. Watch this video and try to count them all.
Each year off of the Louisiana coast, big bull redfish school up in huge numbers during their fall run. The schools can reach the thousands, and anglers lucky enough to find them can catch them one after another. This video shot off of the Cocodrie coast shows just how many can school up together.
The anglers in the video followed the school until they were too tried to catch any more of the hard-fighting bull redfish. They would cast topwater lures and catch two, then follow the school and do it all over again. Once they grew tired, they shot this great footage to show us all just how many bull redfish will school together this time of year.
According to the nola.com article, the fish would only bite topwater lures and would not touch live bait. Can’t complain about catching a giant fish like this on topwater. Early in the video, they use a topwater lure with no hooks, and the fish demolish it when it is cast into the school. It is a sight to see.
