Charter boat captain reels in 1,000-pound tiger shark off the coast of Hilton Head.

Charter Captain Chip Michalove of Outcast Sport Fishing in Hilton Head is at again reeling in big sharks.

Michalove and his crew were shark fishing Wednesday afternoon nearly two miles away from the north end of the island. The fight was soon on when he hooked into a massive tiger shark weighing right at 1,000-pounds with a total length of 13 feet.

Watch him bring the huge predator up next to his boat in the video below.

While the Outcast crew catches these big sharks for a living they also help provide research data to Ocearch. Every shark they catch, including this huge tiger, are radio tagged and released back into the water.

This isn’t the first time Captain Chip has made headlines catching huge sharks in Hilton Head. Back in March, he reeled in a 2,500-pound great white and in June of last year he caught was is thought to be the largest tiger shark on the East Coast.
