Man’s New Best Friend? Meet the Deadly Lion That’s Become Domesticated [VIDEO]

A lion reared from birth by humans has become so domesticated that it can’t return to the wild due to its tame nature.

Lions are some of the most ferocious beasts known to mankind, or so you would think.

Despite our understanding that lions can rip a man to shreds, that hasn’t stopped 69-year-old Frikkie Von Solms from rearing and forming a strong bond with the 11-year-old lion named Zion. So much so that they have even shared the same bed.

In the video man and beast walk side-by-side along dusty trails in Africa without a care in the world, with Mr. Von Solms holding Zion’s tail as they walk. The lion, who is described as a gentle giant and has never attacked a human, was taken away from his mother at birth after fears that the cub’s father would kill him.

Unable to return to the wild due to his tame nature, the lion resides with 18 others in addition to other cats like leopards and cheetahs, which are all looked after by Mr. Von Solms.
