A man had to receive first aid after what was an apparent accidental discharge in store’s entrance.
An unnamed man accidentally shot himself in the foot in the Clarksville, Indiana Bass Pro Shops location as he waited on an employee to get him a trigger lock.
The accident happened around 3 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The type of firearm wasn’t identified, but it seems injuries were minimal as WDRB reports he received first aid and is recovering.
No one else in Bass Pro Shops was in danger during the accident. It sounds as if the man was bringing the firearm to sell or for some type of service. Thankfully, in this situation, no one was seriously injured.
Hopefully this incident serves as a reminder of firearm safety for the man who was hit. An incident like this is unfortunate, but is also a good reminder of basic firearm safety.
Never assume a firearm is unloaded. Always check and make sure when handling one. Especially if you are bringing it into a store for sale or service.
