Man Being Sued for Alleged Cannibalism During Shipwrecked Fishing Trip

You may remember hearing about castaway Jose Salvador Alvarenga, the Mexican shark fisherman who had to survive on turtles and birds while drifting through the Pacific for 13 months. Now, the family of his colleague is claiming Alvarenga was guilty of cannibalism when his shipwrecked companion died.

When, if ever, is cannibalism approved? It’s a difficult question to ask, but one that will surely come up should this case be taken further.
