Birch oil has a ton of beneficial uses. Knowing how to make birch oil yourself is one easy thing you should add to your ever-growing list of skills.

From practical uses on your tools to hygienic and medicinal purposes, birch oil is always something that’s handy to have on hand or to be able to make if you are out in the wilderness. Luckily for you, today you’re going to find out just how easy it is to make up a batch of birch oil. All you’ll need is a couple of tin cans, some birch bark, and a place where you can start a good fire that will burn for a few hours.

We would highly recommend that if you can identify any birch trees in your area that may have recently been downed, that you give this a try. You may not “need” birch oil right now, but the best way to learn is by doing, and you don’t want to be forced to learn in a situation where you really are in need.
