Maine Osprey Cam Part II: Watch a Newborn Osprey Chick Get Its First Fish Dinner [VIDEO]

Hog Island Audubon Camp in Lincoln County Maine has an active osprey cam that shows the joy of a mother tending to her newly hatched chick.

Proud parents Rachel and Steve, a pair of nesting ospreys in Maine, are looking after three eggs in their nest on Hog Island.

With one chick hatched and the second on the way, Steve has made a catch. Watch the care that a fish eagle named Rachel has in tenderly feeding her first-born while chick number two is knocking on the door.

This osprey cam shows the amazing inner world of a bird of prey’s active nest.

Now that the second chick has pried its way into the world, Steve and Rachel will have their hands full plucking fish from the water and feeding two mouths while waiting for the third to come into the world.

As fishermen, we can appreciate the skills of one of our planets best anglers, and the way they care for their young.
