His and Hers Rare Spotless Redfish: What Are the Odds?

spotless redfish

Is it rare to catch a spotless redfish? You bet. It’s cool that this fishing couple caught a pair back-to-back!

Redfish are easily identifiable by a prominent large black spot on the tail. Multiple spots can be common, but rarely will you find a spotless redfish. Knowing that fact, this video showcasing the catches of Luiza and Captain Jimmy is pretty cool.

Capt. Jimmy is first on the board with a 26 1/2″ redfish, and not a single spot is to be seen. Minutes later, Luiza reels in her rare catch. You have to wonder what the odds of that happening are.

The action all went down in Florida, and as Captain Jimmy pointed out, without this video, many naysayers might have accused them of photoshopping. It’s nice that we have some spectacular footage of this rare moment.

A question for our readers: have any of you caught a spotless redfish before?
