Marine Survives a Sniper Headshot by Mere Inches in Afghanistan

A Marine survives a shot to the head from a Taliban sniper and shows that he is a lucky man leading a charmed life.

Sometimes the difference between life and death is just a matter of a few inches. This Marine learned that lesson all too well when his kevlar helmet took a bullet from a Taliban sniper in Afghanistan, potentially saving his life. His buddy took the video with a helmet mounted camera.

HEADS UP: The video will play, but because of the graphic/mature content, it shows a neutral gray screen before you hit play.

Luckily, none of the three Marines standing in that opening were seriously injured by the bullet. Had it hit just a few inches lower, this story would have had a much more tragic ending.

Fortunately, this lucky Marine walked away from the encounter with nothing more serious than a headache, ringing ears, and an incredible story about how he took a sniper shot to the head like a champ.
