Lookout, Drivers: 24-Point Buck Hit by Car in Ohio [VIDEO]

There truly is nothing worse than seeing a beautiful trophy animal like this go out in such a tragic way.

We’ve all been driving down the road at one time or another, when we see the sickening sight of tines sticking out of the ditch. Reported as a 24-point buck in this YouTube video posted October 29th, 2015, this giant was apparently struck by a car in Ohio.

We can only hope that the giant you have been chasing this year doesn’t meet the same fate.

As humans continue to sprawl into whitetail territory, it is likely that this site will only become more and more common.

According to a 2012 study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), a total of 1.23 million deer-vehicle collisions occurred in the U.S. during a years time, costing approximately $4 billion in vehicle damage and approximately 200 deaths.

With the rut approaching in many states around the country, the number of deer-vehicle collisions can only be expected to rise. Be safe out there, drivers, and constantly be aware of your surroundings no matter where you are.
