The Bayou Bowhunter is hard at work once again. This time he’s showing us how it’s done on a longbow hog hunting trip.
If you’ve ever wanted to see someone go longbow hog hunting, then you came to the right place. The Bayou Bowhunter specializes in hunting big game (primarily hogs) with traditional archery gear. He’s killed dozens of hogs in this manner, to include a monster boar he took with a recurve bow last year. In this video, he tries his luck with a longbow.
Check out the video to see how it all went down.
He found the hog later that evening after tracking her for about 60 yards. Especially when you consider the fact that she rolled down a hill after expiring, that’s not bad at all. He clearly made an ethical shot and the hog did not run very far.
That just goes to show that if you’re hunting in the right place and if you know what you’re doing, you don’t need the latest and greatest gear to have a successful hunt.
Nice work! Enjoy those pork chops!
