When you shoot as many deer as the Lakoskys, you’d better have a good venison roast recipe.
Besides being delicious, Tiffany’s go-to venison roast recipe is super easy to make. She calls it “Three Packet Roast” and if there’s an easier way to prepare a venison roast, I haven’t seen it yet. Here’s how to make it.
- 1 packet dry ranch dressing
- 1 packet dry Italian dressing
- 1 packet dry brown gravy
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 large (3-4#) venison roast (any type of roast will work)
Place roast in crock pot and sprinkle dry packets over roast. Add two cups of beef broth. Cover and cook on low for 7 or more hours. Add potatoes, carrots, celery or any other goodies two hours before serving. The remaining liquid can be thickened and made into gravy. Serve with warm, crusty bread and a side salad.
I’ve tried this venison roast recipe a few times now and it is TASTY! Put it on in the morning before leaving for work and when you get home in the evening, your house will smell delicious and your roast will be ready.
Whether you’re an expert wild game chef looking for an easy Tuesday night dinner or a novice who’s never had much success preparing venison roasts, this recipe is for you.
