It’s easier than you think to set up a bowfishing bow.
Love to hunt? Love to fish? Well, how about combining both into one? That’s essentially what bowfishing is all about. It’s a great way to spend the summer months and is a blast.
Check out this video to see how easy it is to set up a bowfishing bow.
You can use just about any bow you want to bowfish. Your prime deer rig may not be the best option but if it’s all you’ve got, it’ll certainly work. You can often find old used bows on sites like eBay for dirt cheap and they can make excellent bowfishing setups. A traditional recurve bow is also great but takes a little different retrieval system.
You don’t need to pull heavy poundage — 35-40 pounds is more than enough in most cases. While this video shows a setup that uses finger-savers, you can do just fine using a D-loop and release aid if you prefer.
