We’ve never really thought about exactly when turkeys start strutting, but we didn’t expect it to be this early in life.
There’s almost nothing a turkey hunter loves to see more than the sight of a gobbler in full strut. It doesn’t matter if he’s in range, or even if you are actually out hunting, just getting to see a magnificent bird like that showing off his power is something every outdoorsman should try to experience at least once in their lifetime. But what you probably haven’t seen before is what a gobbler looks like when he first starts strutting.
The birds in the videos are only two and a half to three weeks old and have just started strutting. To be honest we hadn’t really considered when turkeys first start strutting but we certainly didn’t expect it to be quite this young. We do have to say it is quite adorable though seeing them puff up to all of their tiny glory.
