Know Your Snakes: The Good and the Bad

This is why not all snakes are bad snakes!

As the saying goes, “The only good snake is a dead snake.” Well that’s not always true, and this video shows why not all snakes are bad snakes.

A lot of times people are afraid of what they do not know. If they knew that king snakes were predators to various species of venomous snakes then they would know not to jump to the conclusion that they need to kill them.

This specific king snake in the video is preying on a copperhead which is one of the most common venomous snakes in the Eastern United States.

If you’ve never seen a king snake before the picture above represents a typical king snake, however, they can have different color phases as well.

So next time you are thinking about taking a shovel to a snake such as this one, you might want to think twice because he could be what saves your pet or you from the venomous bite of a copperhead or rattlesnake.
