Killer Whales Chase Boat in San Diego and Provide Some Wild Footage [VIDEO]

A mere five miles off the San Diego coast, a pod of killer whales follows and intimidates the passengers of a small boat.

These notoriously intelligent animals do not seem to carry malicious intent, but their size and speed makes you wonder…

This footage occurred on September 10, 2015. The whales seem to be saying, If we wanted to, we could wreck you and your 75-horse Merc.

Seeing orcas beach themselves to grab sea lions is one of the all-time coolest nature scenes (eating three sea lion pups a day!). Researchers have documented killer whale mothers beaching their calves and pulling them back, seemingly training them to feel comfortable with the behavior.

Killer whales are known for their high intelligence. They readily adapt to new environmental conditions (and food sources!) and learn new behaviors (seriously, watch it).

How else do you think they got Willy to jump over that gigantic rip-rap wall?
