Kayaker Has Extremely Physical Battle with 47-Pound Giant Trevally [VIDEO]

Ever seen a giant trevally battled from a kayak? This fish puts up a terrific fight and yanks the kayak along for a ride.

Mauritas is an island nation off the southeastern coast of the African continent, and is surrounded by the Indian Ocean. Steeve Chan Chu, member of the Mautiyak Kayak Fishing Group, was fishing there earlier this year when he hooked into a nice giant trevally.

The World Leading Island Destination Award was given to the island nation for the third time in 2012. Also in 2012, the World Travel Awards crowned the country as the World’s Best Beach; and with clear waters along with a tropical climate, anglers have taken notice.

This island nation happens to be one of the world’s finest luxury destinations. The local population is multi-ethnic and very tourist friendly. And the hotels and tourism infrastructure are also top level. Sounds like this place is a blast.

The fishing looks to be really good too.

But I’d advise a serious workout routine before anyone attempts to fight a GT from a plastic boat.
