Kayak Angler Predicts Whale Sighting, But Wasn’t Expecting This Action

It’s always exciting to see whales while fishing on the ocean.

The kayak angler in this video starts out fairly relaxed as he talks about the marine life he hopes to see off the northern New Jersey Shore.

As previously covered, there’s currently a massive aquatic migration occurring off the Jersey Shore in the Atlantic Ocean as everything from whales to seals are heading south to warmer waters for the winter.

The angler isn’t sure what type of whale surfaced that day, but his best guess is a humpback whale, which makes total sense in light of the migration currently occurring.

He says the breaching whale made the trip one of the best days of fishing in his life.

“Seeing a whale breach next to the kayak gives you a really weird deep feeling of nausea, adrenaline and general intensity. I will never forget the whale,” says the angler.

So, how good was the fishing? He says he caught striper on wooden swimmers, pencil poppers, and live menhaden. He called the video from the day ridiculous”and the bait incredible, but having his prediction come true made everything that much more special.
