If you like seeking adventure and love a good hike, we have found your next trip. Hawaii’s Stairway to Heaven is absurd.
Thrilling and beautiful, the Haiku Stairs also known as the Stairway to Heaven provides some absolutely stunning views. This hiking trail is like nothing you have ever seen before and it is currently listed as a “forbidden attraction’.
So extreme and so dangerous, the trail is currently at risk of being shutdown and closed forever. The trail consist of 3,922 steps that will get your adrenaline pumping at an all time high.
The seemingly endless steps lead 2,480 feet up to the top of Puʻukeahiakahoe, a beautifully lush mountain in O’ahu, Hawaii. Unfortunately, due to many 911 calls, rescues and a landslide that took out part of the mountain, it is currently illegal to hike on the trails.
Although it is technically illegal, it doesn’t stop people from traveling from all over the world to take their shot at the Stairway to Heaven.
Honolulu Board of Water Supply is the landowner where the trail is at and they are threatening to remove the trail completely because of the danger.
It would be a shame if such a majestic experience was taken away. Luckily, there is a large effort in place at the moment to try and save the Stairway to Heaven. As you can see in the video, the trail is one of a kind and it would be hard to find another trail similar to it.
Only question left to ask is, would you climb the Stairway to Heaven?
