Watch Randy Newberg pull off this awesome spot-and-stalk hunt on a New Mexico elk. First seeing the bull over 500 yards away, he managed to sneak in undetected and shoot it at 2 yards.
After several days of hard, hot elk hunting in western New Mexico, Randy had several close encounters with multiple bulls. However, things didn’t quite work out, and he couldn’t close the deal. All that changed when he saw this monster old New Mexico elk bull bedded down on a hillside in the distance. You’ll need to see for yourself just how close he managed to stalk to that elk before he took the shot.
Check out the video to see what I mean.
That elk had no idea that Randy was ever there. Even after the arrow hit, the bull was still pretty confused as to what the heck was going on. That’s what you call a true spot-and-stalk hunt.
Nice work, Randy!
