An Iowa man tried to walk out of a Wal-Mart in Cedar Rapids with 30 lures stuffed into his socks.
Leroy Walker was reeled in by Cedar Rapids police after he tried to walk out of a local Wal-Mart store with some 30 fishing lures stuffed into his socks.
The Linn County Attorney’s Office said that police were called to the store in response to a theft in progress and confronted Walker, who then ran.
Walker tried evade officers by shoving one policeman, but was subsequently captured.
After taking the man into custody, police found at least 30 lures stuffed in his socks worth an estimated $260.
Since he’s been charged with fourth-degree theft, assault on a police officer, and interference with official acts, 52-year-old Walker probably won’t be getting off the hook any time soon.
