The International Fly Fishing Film Festival shares beautiful scenes from a sport we all love.
Recently I had the opportunity to attend the International Fly Fishing Film Festival in Toronto, Canada. Needless to say, as an avid outdoorsman, this was something that couldn’t be passed up, a chance to sit and witness people fly fishing in some of the most picturesque locations in the world.

I also had a chance to sit down with Nick Pujic of Vantage Point Media House. Not only does Nick have two films featured this year, but he’s a co-founder of IF4. “The International Fly Fishing Film Festival, or IF4 for short, is a celebration of fly fishing culture and lifestyle. There are over 100 festival screenings worldwide, and Toronto was the host city last week at the Fox Theater,” said Pujic.
The festival wasn’t only a chance to watch enormous trout swimming in the gin-clear water of the Rockies, or April Vokey chasing steelhead in beautiful British Columbia. It provided an opportunity to see what fly fishing really means to people, how it has the power to keep you grounded in such a hectic world.
“This year,” Pujic said, “eight films from all corners of the globe were featured in the two hour line-up, with the heart of fly fishing connecting them all. Calling Ontario home, it was a great feeling to see a near sold-out crowd of 200+ people show up to the Toronto screening!”
The night was filled with moments of awe, laughter and in some cases, pure silence. Whether you’re an aspiring filmmaker or an avid fly fisher, this is not a night to be missed. You can even take your whole family with you.
Since its beginning in 2011, IF4 has continued to grow and draw the attention of filmmakers and viewers worldwide. There are still many opportunities to check out the amazing work, as there are screenings all over North America. Checkout the schedule to see when it’s coming to a theater near you.
