Got a Drone? Use It for Tuna Shore Fishing!

This must-see footage shows the incredible method two anglers use to find and catch tuna!

Drones have now become mainstream – a perfect flying companion for those that want to catch stunning video footage from above. For two innovative Australian anglers, however, they may just have hit upon a cool new way of fishing.

Pals Jaiden Maclean and Byron Leal were enjoying some cold beers when they brainstormed a way to partner their love for fishing and flying drones. Using a Phantom 3 drone, they configured a rig with a drop line that could place a bait in front of fish swimming below. Once a fish strikes, the rig would break free – allowing the drone to effortlessly catch all of the action from above while the happy angler fights the fish from the shore.

Check out this amazing footage!

This incredible adventure took place at Fingal Head near Tweed Heads in late April 2016.

So, what are your thoughts? Fair fishing or does using a drone take the thrill out of the sport? Either way, these guys caught 45 pounds of tasty tuna fresh for the pan.
