A very hungry Indiana bass was recently caught with an entire duckling in its stomach.
An entire duckling was apparently not enough of a meal for one Indiana bass that was recently caught from a pond near Pittsboro, Indiana.
Even with the duckling still firmly lodged in its stomach, the Indiana bass in question was still hungry enough to strike a young angler’s lure.
There isn’t much information on the story beyond the two pictures, but nevertheless, it is an impressive display of the aggressiveness and huge appetite of a feeding largemouth bass.
The young Indiana bass angler who caught the fish estimated that it weighed in the two-pound range.
The duckling-eating-Indiana bass was safely released back into the pond from which it was caught. With an appetite big enough to swallow an entire duckling, there is a good chance this bass turns into quite the lunker someday.
I think it is a safe bet to say that the Indiana bass angler who landed this fish will be returning to that same pond for years to come. However, the ducks may want to stay away.
