cougars in Wisconsin

If Anybody Still Believes There Aren't Cougars in Wisconsin, Show Them This

It looks like Wisconsin might be updating its species list soon.

If you check out the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources website, they specifically state there is no breeding population of cougars in Wisconsin. It wasn't until recently that the state even acknowledged the species' possible presence. It might just a be a matter of time before the state has to update their list of animals to include the Wisconsin cougar.

In the most recent example of an official cougar spotting in Wisconsin, we have this surveillance video. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources ended up posting the video to Facebook a few days ago.

WDNR confirmed the footage was taken in Washington county, and believes this cougar is likely the same one spotted up north near Fond Du Lac County.

If you're like us, you like to see mountain lions seemingly reclaiming their old stomping grounds. However, this does put local residents and their pets at risk.
