When They’re This Big, Water Bugs Can Actually Drown Snakes [VIDEO]

A giant water bug manages to take down a garter snake in an epic struggle to the death. It’s gross, but cool!

These two ladies stumble upon a terribly large water bug and what will soon be its lunch.

We can’t decide who is cooler, the bug drowning the snake or the girl with a knowledge of taxonomy.

She seems to have it right on the money. This bug looks a lot like a lethocerus, which stabs its prey and injects it with venomous saliva. These monstrous bugs can grow to over four inches.

It’s a good thing the bug saw the snake before it saw the bug!
