Though it is a popular activity among many fishing enthusiasts at this time of year, to my eye, ice fishing is no fun. Here’s why.
For serious fishermen (and women), the onset of winter is no reason to stop fishing. Sure, the methods change a little, but the fishing doesn’t really stop.
However, ice fishing can be pretty dangerous, and many of the hazards inherent in the sport go unnoticed. Here is one:

Obviously, killer whales aren’t a threat to anybody ice fishing (unless you happen to be a shark or a seal).
