It’s no secret Facebook is still growing. For us hunters and fishermen, though, it can be fairly hostile and intimidating at times to share our passions. Thankfully, Dana Sacia, the creator of Hunting4Connections, has done something about it. This page is open to anyone who loves to hunt and fish. You also have to have a willingness to share info with others about how you do what you in the Great Outdoors.
For Sacia, the inspiration behind this page actually came about out of necessity. Through a divorce, she quickly found herself on the outs of hunting knowledge she once had access to through her ex-husband, but the desire to continue the tradition was still there. Therefore, after creating Hunting4Connections, she quickly found a wealth of outdoorsy individuals. As the page progressed, members began to share their knowledge of hunting to help her on her journey. From that day to now, this booming group has swelled to more than 25,000 members.
Once accepted, you’ll quickly find deals and offers from select outdoors companies only available to others inside. You also have the ability to post pictures and ask questions without fear of attacks from people who don’t understand our way of life.
“It is fair to say the group is more of a family community than just a group of like-minded outdoorsman,” Dana Sacia wrote in an e-mail to Wide Open Spaces. “The people support each other and have fun while doing it by sharing all their hunting and fishing adventures. Hunting4Connections would like to invite anyone who loves the sport of hunting and fishing to check us out. We especially encourage women to join and learn more about hunting.”
There are lots of groups on Facebook dedicated to hunting and fishing. However, not many offer what Hunting4Connections can. If nothing else, give them a follow and just see for yourself how unique this page really is.
