Our fishing electronics have taken the average angler to new horizons in the 21st century. However, those electronics are only as good as the person using them.
Technology and fishing have came a long way and are advancing faster than most of us can keep up with. Humminbird combined with Lake Master mapping and the Minnkota I-Pilot Link system enables today’s angler to navigate their boat in a flawless manner while being able to place the vessel with pin-point accuracy on waypoints (GPS coordinates) pre-loaded from the comforts of your own home.
One thing that can help any angler out is the management of your waypoints; such as identify where, what (structure) and when you made them to better help you understand that particular fishery. This can be quite the daunting task at first but once you learn the method of exporting and importing data with an SD card to your Humminbird unit and how to manage such information on your PC, you will soon be at ease with the process and the become the envy of all your fishing buddies.
This short video is just one part of many that explains the basic process of waypoint management. I highly encourage you to watch several more of this series of short videos while actively following along on your PC mimicking the same process.
Do not be intimidated by the technology that you have purchased, just invest some time in learning all it has to offer. You will soon be able to navigate all the features available to you and before you know it, you will probably be catching more fish.
