This is a sight Denton residents don’t see every day.
On Tuesday Oct. 13, Harry Evans drove through the streets of Denton, Texas and was stopped by a large white deer crossing the street.
As it walked through a construction site, Evans got a few close-up photos.
“I was just kind of stunned, you know, what is that doing out here? We’re like in the city almost and you’ve got this white deer running around. I couldn’t believe it,” said Brandon Barker, a worker on site.
Texas Parks and Wildlife confirms that the wandering deer was a fallow deer, which is a species commonly found in north Texas. This particular deer was not an albino, but a white deer.
“Don’t shoot! You’ll have bad luck for 20 years.”
Quite a sight for the town of Denton!
