Huge Hydro Vortex Created by Drainage Intake on Lake Texoma [VIDEO]

You wouldn’t believe this if you didn’t see it: a hydro vortex some say is strong enough to suck in a boat.

Aerial footage of this swirling vortex of water, filmed on Lake Texoma, was captured above the drainage intake for the Denison Dam spillway.

Imagine cruising along in your bass boat, when this shows up in the distance. You steer towards the spot and get a little closer…

OK, we’re not going on record saying that vortex could actually swallow up a boat, but it certainly does seem to pick up speed and get pretty powerful.

Maybe a small kayak or canoe would be in real trouble, but a boat would be able to motor its way out of that, wouldn’t it?
