How to Lead Ducks with Your Shotgun, Shot After Shot

This is how to lead ducks with your shotgun with play-by-play gun camera action.

This is a great compilation of how to lead ducks with your shotgun to get on target and get the birds down in the marsh.

Shooting at passing targets is not easy and one of the real skills that took me time and practice to master.  It was easy as a novice, in the heat of the moment, to not follow through on the swing after pulling the trigger or keep the gun moving even after the shot. I learned tips from more experienced waterfowl hunters on how to begin tracking the bird at the beak and taking my lead with a continuous swing based on its distance. With time and experience the proper follow through and lead became instinctive.

Keep working on those shooting skills on the range and in the field and those harder passing shots will become second nature. Best of luck when waterfowling season kicks off this fall and for great duck hunting gear, guns and ammo check out Cabela’s.
