This quick guide will show how to choose snowshoes based on your needs and adventure requirements.

For us hunting and fishing enthusiasts, snowshoes are an awesome way to get around. For late-season whitetail hunting, or getting on some grouse, snowshoes allow you to move fairly stealthily and close in on your quarry.
I have two different sets; one large set for when I want to carry a backpack for deep woods hunting and a smaller “bear paw” style, for quick forays out on the trails. My one tip would be, if you’re in the market for only one type, bigger is better. This will allow you to carry bigger loads as you head out onto those winter trails.
You can find a good selection of snowshoes over at Cabela’s.
