Here’s What the DNR Does to Test for CWD

CWD

Ever wonder about what goes into checking a deer for CWD?

I always wondered exactly what the DNR did at the check stations. I used to think they just used them to keep count of the deer taken and to give you a patch. Well the video below shows the behind the scenes process of testing for CWD and what goes on at those check stations.

As you can tell checking for CWD is quite the process. It is also an important one to maintain the health of the deer herd. The DNR will also do what it can to maintain your deer for a trophy. Returning the antlers, not taking the head, and not cutting the check to age it.
