How Did This Pheasant Ever Eat?

Hunters unexpectedly shoot one-of-a-kind pheasant.

South Dakota is known for its amazing pheasant hunting. An outfitter from Ideal, South Dakota, boasts some of the best bird hunting property in America, at least according to their Facebook page.

Jorgensen Land & Cattle, a multi-purpose farming and hunting operation, posted an image of the crazy bird on December 6th. The caption included in the photo raised the question how the bird ever ate. Good question.

If unattended, chickens and other fowl can often develop long beak growth like one in the image. However, this is the first we’ve seen of a pheasant sporting the backhoe of a beak.
