Hillary Clinton recently made a statement about potential gun buy-backs, alarming gun owners due to possible confiscation.
Hillary Clinton, the Democratic Presidential frontrunner, recently spoke about gun rights and may impose gun-confiscation efforts if elected. When asked about Australia’s 1996 and 2003 gun buy-backs for semi-automatic firearms while on a campaign stop in Keene, New Hampshire, she told reporters, “I think it would be worth considering doing it on the national level, if that could be arranged.”
Chris Cox, executive director of the National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action commented about Hillary Clinton’s remarks saying, “This validates what the NRA has said all along. The real goal of gun control supporters is gun confiscation.”
According to the NRA, Clinton believes that the Supreme Court incorrectly determined that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to self-defense.
Despite Hillary Clinton’s enthusiasm for this type of gun control, Cox feels she doesn’t understand how the NRA is strengthened by supporters of the Second Amendment.
Cox added, “A majority of Americans support this freedom, and the Supreme Court was absolutely right to hold that the Second Amendment guarantees the fundamental, individual right to keep and bear arms. Hillary Clinton’s extreme views are completely out of touch with the American people.”
