Boatside strikes are are what muskie fishing is all about.
If you have been muskie fishing for any length of time, then you know that boatside strikes are the name of the game. Sure, muskies tend to hit at any point of the retrieve, but when they hit right next to the boat, it just doesn’t get any better. Even though these fish are considered to be one of ten thousands casts, just one hit like these makes it all worthwhile.
Just watch this first clip and try not to get excited. Bigtooth Tackle Company was up on Lake of the Woods when this big fish hit. It’s crazy how these muskie just inhale lures.
Yeah. That thing just rolled in on it like a submarine. Boatside strikes like that one is what dreams and nightmares are made of.
Okay, so how about one more? Coincidentally, it’s another bucktail fish as well. This fish from Andy Hamm is a dandy and it couldn’t have hit any better way.
Now if that doesn’t do it for you, it might be time to put down the muskie rod and try something else. As you just saw, boatside strikes make the muskie world go around.
It’s pretty easy to see why.
