The oldest living WWII vet knows, well, how to live.
Richard Overton turned 108 on Sunday, May 11, and thanks to reddit user zsreport, we got a glimpse into his celebration as he added another number to the highest age for living World War II veterans.
We’d say he’s enjoying his birthday.
Thanks to MyFOXAustin, we got even more insight on him.
Born in Bastrop County, Texas, Overton served in the Pacific in 1945. He resides in Austin, where he was honored on Veteran’s Day by President Obama. Overton gave him a box of his favorite cigars, which he said he’s smoked since he was 18.
The 108-year-old still works in his yard and holds a Texas driver’s license.
Here’s wishing Overton and all other veterans the best.
