Cooking venison can get pretty monotonous, but this recipe for venison burgers will shake things up.
We don’t eat a lot of straight venison burger in our house. My wife loves venison, but she has a hard time with it when it’s cooked as a meatloaf or a traditional hamburger. However, this recipe for venison burger is one that I do come back to over and over again.
Hawaiian style venison burgers create an entirely different taste than what you might be used to, and the pineapple on top just makes things that much better.
Hawaiian Style Venison Burgers
- 1 pound ground venison
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/3 cup onion powder
- salt and pepper to taste
- ketchup, mustard, soy sauce
- Pineapple slices
To get this recipe started, simply combine with your hands the ground venison, bread crumbs, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Once all mixed together, form into patties and place on a greased baking sheet.
To create the sauce, mix equal parts mustard, ketchup, a healthy dose of soy sauce, and mix thoroughly. Spread the sauce mixture on top of the burgers and bake in the oven for about 12 minutes at 375 degrees, or your desired doneness.
When cooked, use the rest of the sauce mixture on top of the finished burgers and finish it off with a pineapple slice.
I bet you can’t eat just one. Enjoy!
