Here are pictures of a 1254-pound titan known as a blue marlin. Now’s a good time to start drooling.
Photos appearing on the Facebook page of one Olaf Grimkowski document the fierce battle that happened on the charter boat Habitat. Citing participants angler/Captain Lukas Folk, mate/captain Marco Nielsen, and Marty Bates, the post said that the big gamefish came in at a stunning 1254 pounds!
The post went on to say that Nielsen drove after the hookup. Here’s the beast on the pier posing for pictures!
Cheers to the men for teaming up on what turned out to be a tremendous catch! All played their roles well, and the big brute was subdued.
The boat was listed as sailing out of Marina de Horta, Azores. This archipelago in the North Atlantic near Portugal is the summer home of some of the best blue marlin fishing in the world.
Since it looked as if there was a little room left on their craft, we’re waiting with bated breath for an invite on the next trip!
