Herd of Manatees Swim Right Under Stand Up Paddleboarders in Florida [VIDEO]

Imagine paddleboarding down a crystal clear river and having a large group of manatees swim right underneath you.

SUP Weeki shared this wonderful video of some paddleboarders experiencing a special meeting with a group of manatees.

For the sake of accuracy, a group of manatees is called an aggregation.

SUP is an acronym for stand up paddleboarding. SUP Weeki is an eco-tour company that offers paddleboarding lessons and tours. The company offers its services in the Weeki Wachee River, located in Hernando County on the Gulf side of Florida.

The Weeki Wachee is a Florida tourist attraction, complete with organized mermaid shows and a variety of natural attractions for swimmers, scuba divers, kayakers, etc.. The river and park also serves as a sanctuary for manatees, which play a part in the park’s status as a tourist attraction.

In extended videos of this encounter, the gentle manatees swim near and even right up to people wading in the shallows of the river.
