A common household product that you would have never thought of will help keep your fish alive longer in your livewell.
Believe it or not, a household product that most of you have in your bathroom can do an amazing job of keeping your fish alive and kicking in your livewell.
That product? Hydrogen peroxide. Of course, you need to dilute it a little before putting it in your livewell but when done correctly, this household product can help you have healthier fish than ever before.
One of the most common uses of diluted hydrogen peroxide is for health purposes. Whether for disinfecting cuts, cleaning a wound, or whitening teeth this household product is used differently for humans. Diluted peroxide, 300 to one, is a safe way to oxidize water in the livewell, which is better for the fish.
Next time you head out on the water don’t forget to throw in a little hydrogen peroxide to put more oxidized water in the livewell. Your fish will stay fresher for longer!
