As hunters and fishermen we think we’ve seen all of the animal attacks there are. That is until now.
Here are 15 of the craziest, silliest, most heinous injuries caused by wildlife. Sometimes other predators can be just as dangerous as us hunters.
Have fun guessing what caused these serious, and sometimes laughable, injuries; some are easy and some will have you calling your buddy for help. These are the believable and the unbelievable animal attacks.

Warning: Some of these pictures are extremely graphic

Dude, are you more embarrassed that you got this injury or that you were inspecting the backside of the animal that nailed you?
7. Northern Pike
8. Lake Whitefish
9. An aluminum row boat…. ?
Wait until you hear this one.
10. Human Male.
Maybe it’s just me, but as graphic as that wound is, why did they bother to blur out his butt crack?
11. Rainbow Trout
12. German Shorthaired Pointer
For 13 wonderful years I was nervous about this happening to mine.
13. Smallmouth Bass
14. Sperm Whale
15. Whitetail Deer
Things are tough all over, but out there in the wild kingdom we’re just a mouthful to some of these creatures. Animal attacks can take many forms. Maybe they’re hungry or maybe they’re just being territorial. Sometimes an animal attack occurs over mating rites; sometimes it’s all about opportunity.
Whatever the case may be, watch your back and don’t be one of the unlucky ones. Use pliers on that pike, keep your camp tidy in known bear areas, take a first aid kit along with you, and just use some good old-fashioned common sense out there.
The answers to your questions await:
- Porcupine. Seriously?
- Grey Seal
- Northern Pike
- Pike again. Are you kidding me?
- Wild Boar
- Pike are just plain nuts and want to eat the world
- Sperm Whale. Tough one. I say giant squid; Whitelab Biology says: “The interscar spacing observed corresponds instead to the interdental spacing of a female or juvenile sperm whale.” They sure know more than me, ya’ll.
